Beginning in 1983, Brite Computers was originally founded as a custom computer manufacturer in Rochester, NY and quickly established itself by combining the right components to solve a customer’s unique needs. In 1999, John and Justin Smith acquired and transformed Brite Computers into a regional white box powerhouse.

The new millennium brought with it expanded use and greater connectivity of computers and new set of challenges, which forced changed.  Brite embraced that changed and began a new journey. Because of this industry and cultural shift, the Brite team uncovered three new ways to support our computing customers in all industries looking to adapt to the digital era. From deploying and supporting the once built machines, to developing specialized skills for unique applications (like technology in patrol cars) and ultimately protecting the critical data, infrastructures and networks now being stored and accessed by computers.

Fast-forward a few decades, Brite has grown beyond computers, continuing to evolve alongside technology and customers’ needs.

Now, Brite expertly leverages various technologies and services showcased in the three business units. Each with its own unique aspects, yet remarkably similar goals of proactive protection. The Public Safety team delivers technology to protect the officers in the field, generate leads for investigators and keep leaders informed to make critical decisions with real-time details to keep communities safe. The Enterprise team delivers industry-leading cybersecurity solutions to both large and medium businesses in various industries. Derived from common cybersecurity frameworks, Brite developed a unique methodology to assist customers and recommend solutions. Finally, the Managed Services team delivers the most comprehensive IT and security services, providing the right people and proven processes when technology alone is not enough.

Our proven methodology of partnering with thoroughly vetted industry-leading technology vendors, delivered by the Brite team, which is evident by our numerous awards, including a six-time Inc. 5000 honoree.
